MRSA Information

The U.S. Center for Disease Control has issued an advisory relative to the recent spread of the MRSA staph infections. The MRSA bacterium is extremely resistant to antibiotics, which poses a threat to the general population, with particular concern for hospital-related infections and student athletes. Please read below for all related MRSA information as it pertains to Levittown Public Schools.

MRSA Update

The purpose of this notice is to provide district parents and residents with an update on the MRSA bacterium. Today, the Levittown Schools received confirmation of the first case of MRSA within the district. The case occurred about a month ago, and was first reported to our district today. The case involves a high school student. The student has received treatment, has fully recovered, and is back in school.
