Graduation Requirements

As demonstrated this past school year, the collective accomplishments of our district's students continue to be laudatory. In addition to demonstrating continued strength in standardized test scores where Levittown scholars are found at the top of national results. The new Report Card issued by the State Education Department highlights a strong level of achievement. Levittown has met and exceeded all previous goals.

Students must satisfy the "additional credit" requirements of the Levittown Public Schools. Additional credit details and an explanation is provided in the district course catalog. Specific questions can be answered by your child's guidance counselor. All students must complete a senior year, interdisciplinary research paper and pass physical education all four years. All students must take mathematics courses all four years. Students must satisfy a "computer literacy requirement" beginning with the class of 2009.

ADVANCED REGENTS DIPLOMA WITH DISTINCTION

Beginning with the class of 2008, students who wish to qualify for an Advanced regents Diploma with Distinction, must earn five points. Students will receive a point for every AP course for which the student received a three or better while maintaining a 90 or better during their sophomore and junior years. One point will be awarded for every AP or college level course for which the student achieves a final average of 90 or better during their senior year. One point will be awarded for non-duplicative college level courses where there are no AP exams taken in senior year as long as an average of 93 or better is maintained. Commencement exercises signify successful completion of high school. Only those high school students who will have successfully completed, by the end of the current school year, all requirements for the appropriate diploma shall be permitted to participate in the commencement exercises.
