The Office of Instruction is dedicated to providing outstanding teaching and learning opportunities for students in the Levittown Public Schools. The current school year continues to present us with the many exciting challenges of preparing our students for the 21st century. New York State has adopted a new set of learning standards for students in kindergarten through grade 12 called the Common Core State Standards. The standards focus on two areas: English Language Arts and Mathematics. At the secondary level, these standards are also translated to literary standards for social studies, science and technical subjects. These standards are part of a national effort to improve education and focus on providing our students with the skills necessary to be successful in college. The District will be engaged in the process of adjusting our curriculum and instruction to match these learning standards, ensuring that our students build on their skills to think critically and analytically.
We are justifiably proud of the many accomplishments of our students and staff and we welcome your involvement and feedback as we continue to grow and flourish into the 21st century.
