Nassau County Police Officer Robert Konik visited U.S. History classes at Division Avenue High School on Sept. 26 to discuss the Nassau County Law Enforcement Exploring Program. The program is designed to assist students in exploring career opportunities and focuses on building character, leadership, and good citizenship in young adults.
Officer Konik spoke about many opportunities the youth have when participating in this program, such as hands on experiences and professional training, as well as his own experiences as a police officer. Students participated in a question and answer session after the presentation.
"One of my career interests is law enforcement," said junior James Nadolny. "This workshop furthered my knowledge on how young people can get invo
lved in community policing and problem solving."
