It's hard to believe our year is coming to a close. Our very special first graders have had a great year of learning and growing. The best part has been being a part of their progress in learning to read.
The second grade students were very busy this month reviewing and preparing for the MAI Test. The students worked on Comparing and Ordering Greater Numbers, Fractions, 3-Digit Addition and Subtraction with regrouping, and Multi-Step Problem Solving.
A highlight this month for fourth graders was our field trip to Hoyt Farm Preserve. There the students took an active part in a hands-on program designed to demonstrate how early Native Americans lived on Long Island.
June is an extremely busy and exciting month for Lee Road's 5th graders. They are getting their yearbooks, having a luau, picnic, participating in field day and graduating. Even with all of these wonderful activities we are still very busy learning.
The third grade butterfly life cycle project inspired a flutter of activities for all grades in the art room. We learned different ways to draw butterflies: using the letter "B", using triangles, and using heart shapes - separately and in combination.
