Kindergarten students have been busy at work applying what they've learned about letter sounds and word families to help with writing and reading. Small guided reading groups take place each week, which help build on specific skills at individualized levels.

LEADD Week took place the second week in April. During this fun-filled week of learning, kindergarten students took part in many activities in class and during specials. Students read both fiction and non-fiction stories related to nutrition and healthy living. Children also enjoyed the cultural arts presenter, and had fun jumping rope in physical education class to support a great cause!

April was also a month to learn about our planet's health and celebrate Earth Day! Children learned many ways they can help our planet stay clean and healthy for future generations.

In Math, students are working on addition and subtraction of numbers 0-10. Students work independently and in small groups to compose and decompose numbers. Children work with many different math manipulatives to help reinforce math concepts.
