Lee Road PTA Allison Sciubba Memorial Award

The Allison Sciubba Memorial Award was established by the Lee Road PTA in 1998 in order to commemorate the life of a special Lee Road student, Allison Sciubba, who lost her life to cancer at the age of five. Allison loved life and is remembered as a 'regular kid', who enjoyed playing on the Lee Road playground with her friends, giggling as she walked through the hallways with her teacher, and drawing pictures with her classmates. In the words of (1998) Lee Road Principal Barbara Hornack, 'she was a very special person indeed and enriched the lives of all those with whom she came into contact'.

A certificate, along with a $500 check, will be presented by the Lee Road PTA at General Douglas MacArthur High School's Senior Awards Night, to the student who submits the most compelling essay describing how friendships and/or experiences at Lee Road have impacted his/her life today. In order to qualify, students must be a graduating senior from General Douglas MacArthur High School, have attended Lee Road Elementary School for at least one year, and accurately complete the application process. The recipient will be chosen by the Lee Road PTA Scholarship Committee.

Applications are also available through the General Douglas MacArthur High School Guidance Department.
