MacArthur Psychology Students Visit Pilgrim State
On Friday December 13th, Mrs. Sanchez's and Ms. Reynolds' psychology classes visited Pilgrim State Psychiatric Hospital as it relates to their study of Abnormal Psychology. The students were given a tour of the facility and a brief history of the hospital including how it has evolved over the years. The students then had the opportunity to meet and speak with clients of the facility who discussed their experiences as former patients. Ms. Reynolds volunteered to demonstrate what it looked like to be placed in a straight jacket. As the visit came to a close, students toured the animal rehabilitation center and were instructed on how the animals provide therapy for the patients of Pilgrim State.
