Senior Samiullah Khan from Division Avenue High School recently earned a College Board Practice Scholarship for putting in more than six hours of practice on the official SAT practice website, Khan Academy.
The $1,000 Practice Scholarship is part of the College Board Opportunity Scholarships which rewards students for their effort and initiative during their path to college. The College Board has awarded 150 Practice scholarships to students every month from January through October. Students can increase their chances of winning by practicing for more hours.
Samiullah is a hardworking student who says he has put in at least 30 hours into the practice tests.
"It felt very special to receive this because I put in a lot of hard work and it's nice to be recognized for it," he said. "The SAT is an important test, so it was really important for me to do well. I studied a lot."
After graduation, Samiullah hopes to attend either New York University or Cornell University to study biology.
The district congratulates him on this outstanding accomplishment!
