Lee Road third graders in Jennifer Lores' class recently celebrated Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day with an important lesson on character. The students discussed the content of their own characters and came up with reasons such as "the content of my character reflects that I am supportive" or "the content of my character reflects that I am kind and respectful." Each student colored in their own Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. figure and included it with their character sentence. They also drew a picture to go along with their writing. All the projects were displayed in the classroom. It was a great way for the third graders learn the meaning of character, what Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. stood for and reflect on themselves.
