Northside Students Learn About Weather and Wind
March 30, 2012

Pictured are the students displaying the book, charts with the results of their predictions and pinwheels they made for their wind experiment.
The Kindergarten students at Northside School from Mrs. Nyquist's and Mrs. D'Amuro's classes discussed the weather and wind after reading What Will the Weather Be Like Today? by Paul Rogers. They engaged in a wind experiment as part of their science studies. Using cooperative learning groups, the children made predictions about what objects the wind could blow from a selection of several objects that they were given.

The youngsters went outdoors with their teachers to confirm their predictions. To all their delights, the wind cooperated and confirmed their predictions. The students excitedly went back to their classroom and desks to record the results of their successful science experiment.
