Northside Students Honor Our Military
Northside School students from Kindergarten to Fifth grade learned that they can have a positive impact and make a difference in their community by honoring the brave men and woman in our military. They created cards thanking the veterans in our area for their service with words and poems of gratitude. They drew patriotic symbols, American flags, peace signs, and pictured hearts showing their love for the servicemen and women who sacrifice for our country.
Ms. Ryan Shaw, second grade teacher, organized the card making initiative and classroom teachers implemented the effort, encouraging their classes to honor these special people. Mr. Bob Mehm, Head Custodian, volunteered to deliver the cards to our veterans. Mr. Frank Mortillaro, Principal of Northside, is proud of all who took part in this tremendous community service activity.
