Northside School Celebrates 100th Day
Students in kindergarten, first, and second grades at Northside School celebrated the 100th day of school with many exciting activities and projects to reinforce the numeral 100. Students created hats designed with the number 100 and sorted objects such as paper clips and toothpicks into groups of fives, tens, and twenty-fives. The children counted by 2's, 5's, and 10's to 100, exercised with jumping jacks to 100 and walked the hallway exactly 100 steps, observing how far they went.
The favorite activity for the kindergarteners was dressing up as 100year old men and women. They wore baggy clothes, house dresses, curlers, beards, suspenders, bowties, glasses, gray wigs, and used canes to show their age of 100. Teachers donned centenarian style clothing as well. The entire student body stood in the hallways of Northside and enjoyed watching the children from kindergarten and their teachers parade throughout the building to celebrate the 100th day.
