Summit Lane Investigates Paul Revere and Sybil Ludington
March 26, 2012

Students in Mrs. Ficeto's fourth grade reading groups read two books related to the American Revolution. The first book titled, And Then What Happened Paul Revere was written by Jean Fritz. The second book, Sybil Ludington's Midnight Ride was written by Marsha Amstel. Students learned how a young 16-year old girl from Patterson, New York saved the town of Peekskill from British attack on April 26, 1777. The students compared Sybil Ludington to Paul Revere and discussed why his story is remembered and Sybil's often forgotten. Students wrote letters to George Washington informing him of Sybil's courageous ride.
