Summit Lane Elementary School kindergarten students led their stuffed bears through the halls during the annual Teddy Bear Parade.
It is not every day that students are encouraged to bring their warm, fuzzy teddy bears to school. Kindergarteners at Summit Lane Elementary School in the Levittown School District were recently afforded this opportunity as part of a curricular activity about bears.
The young students have been studying and reading books about brown, black, and polar bears during their science classes. As a culminating activity, the students tucked their stuffed animals in cardboard wagons and paraded through the halls of the school during the annual Teddy Bear Parade. The older students, who lined the halls, cheered for the bears and their owners.
