Students from Jonas E. Salk Middle School and Wisdom Lane Middle School received a visit from Rob Buyea, author of their summer reading book, "Because of Mr. Terupt." The book was part of the Levittown Public Schools' Summer Reading Extravaganza program. During the summer months, incoming sixth through eighth graders read "Because of Mr. Terupt" and participated in various activities, including virtual book discussions.

Coordinated by Director of English Language Arts Kerin Slattery, Mr. Buyea conducted grade level presentations at both middle schools on Oct. 25 and Oct. 26. He spoke about "Because of Mr. Terupt," as well as his writing process.

Thirty scholars from each school who actively participated in the Summer Reading Extravaganza also received a special treat during his visit. Select students were invited to a luncheon with Mr. Buyea, where they could further connect with their summer reading author.
