The World Language Department

The study of World Languages plays an important role in preparing students to interact successfully in the global community. These studies provide practical communication skills especially useful in Government, International Relations, Commerce, Industry and many other professions. Familiarity with a world language also furnishes means of leisure time enjoyment, especially in travel, literature, and the arts.

The World Language department in the Levittown Schools currently offers instruction in Spanish, French, Italian, and American Sign Language. Many of our Level 4/5 students earn college credits through a partnership with Molloy College. Seniors in the highest level of language are offered the opportunity to apply for the NYS Seal of Biliteracy. As a school district we remain committed to the cultural, intellectual, and practical benefits of World Language instruction.
