Kindergarteners at Northside Elementary School wrote letters for local police officers on Nov. 9. Students at Northside Elementary School in the Levittown School District continued their tradition of sending thanks through cards to local police officers on Nov. 9.

Northside has participated in the program, titled "Card for Cops" and coordinated by Beyond the Badge New York, for four years. More than 1,000 cards have been assembled by Northside students and sent to local police departments. Their hope is to lift an officer's spirit this holiday season, with the kind words found within the card acting as a reminder of the support from the Northside community. Students receive great feedback from officers each year.
