MacArthur High School Celebrates Homecoming Tradition
MacArthur High School welcomed students, families, alumni and community members for its annual Homecoming celebration on Oct. 2, bringing together generations of Generals for a day filled with school spirit and tradition.
The festivities began with a Homecoming parade from Gardiners Avenue Elementary School to MacArthur High School. Led by district administrators, Board of Education members and the MacArthur marching band, student representatives from teams and clubs marched alongside staff and future Generals from across the district. Families and community members lined the route, while the Jonas E. Salk Middle School marching band helped conclude the parade.
Following the parade, the MacArthur High School marching band performed the National Anthem and senior athletes and participants were recognized for their dedication and contributions. The celebration also featured the introduction of the Homecoming Court, with Lorenzo Rojas and Adrianna Vargas crowned Homecoming King and Queen.
Despite rainy conditions, the excitement continued throughout the day. The Cheer and Kickline teams energized the crowd with halftime performances, while fans cheered on the varsity football team during the Homecoming matchup.
From the parade to the final whistle, Homecoming showcased the pride, traditions and strong sense of community that unite MacArthur Generals.
