Meet The Levittown Public Schools Board of Education and Student Liaisons

Peggy Marenghi
President
Peggy Marenghi has been a member of the Levittown Board of Education for 15 years and is currently the First Vice President, having also served as President and Trustee. A longtime Levittown resident, she has a deep connection to the community and has grandchildren, nieces, and nephews who are students in the Levittown School District.
A retired elementary school principal, Ms. Marenghi also worked as an elementary teacher, an administrator at an alternative high school, and as an addiction and drug counselor in a residential program. She now supervises pre-service teachers at Molloy University. Ms. Marenghi holds a bachelor's degree in elementary education, a master's degree in addiction counseling, and an administrative certification.
Ms. Marenghi has volunteered with the American Red Cross, most notably assisting in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina, and is a member of the Kiwanis Club. She has been recognized with the New York State Administrator of the Year Award and the New York State School Boards Association Outstanding Member Award. In her free time, Ms. Marenghi can be found on the sidelines supporting her grandchildren at sporting events and competitions.

James Moran
1st Vice President
James Moran is the Second Vice President of the Levittown Board of Education and has served as a board member for 27 years. A Levittown resident for 64 years, he attended Levittown public schools and later saw all of his children graduate from the district.
He retired from the Town of Hempstead after 37 years of service and now works seasonally with the Nassau County Office of Emergency Management. A graduate of MacArthur High School, Mr. Moran also completed two years at Nassau Community College.
Active in the community, Mr. Moran volunteers with the Levittown Kiwanis Club, St. Bernard's Basketball, Levittown Red Devils Football, and Levittown North and Central Baseball. He takes great pride in supporting the success of Levittown students.

Marianne Adrian
2nd Vice President
Marianne Adrian has served as a Trustee on the Levittown Board of Education since 2015. A lifelong resident and proud graduate of Division Avenue High School, she has raised her three children in the district and built strong connections with families, educators, and neighbors.
Ms. Adrian brings more than 20 years of experience supporting senior leadership, most recently in the New York State Unified Court System, where she provides administrative support in a collaborative team environment. She is also currently pursuing her bachelor's degree.
Active in the community, Ms. Adrian has been a member of the Kiwanis Club of Levittown since 2015, serving as President for two years and preparing to represent the community as Lieutenant Governor of the Long Island South Central Kiwanis Division during the 2025-2026 service year. In her free time, she enjoys baking and cooking and sharing good meals with family and friends.

Phyllis Dalton
Trustee
Phyllis Dalton has been a member of the Levittown Board of Education since her election in 2023 and is a resident of the community for 40 years. She is the proud mother of two adult sons who attended schools in Levittown.
Ms. Dalton brings 25 years of experience in educational leadership to the board, having been a classroom teacher, a reading specialist, an assistant principal, and a principal. She holds a bachelor's degree and a master's degree. She's committed to fostering a school district where all students can excel and all residents feel heard.
Ms. Dalton is an active parishioner at St. Bernard's R.C. Church, where she previously served as girls' CYO basketball coach for many years. When she isn't growing tomatoes and basil in her garden or harvesting figs from her backyard, you can find her trying to find pick-up mahjong games. She is a diehard New York Mets fan.

Christina Lang
Trustee
Christina Lang has served on the Levittown Board of Education for 10 years, previously as Trustee and Second Vice President, and assumed the role of Board President this year. She has been a resident of the community for 21 years and is the proud mother of one son who graduated from Division Avenue High School and two children who are currently seniors in the district.
Ms. Lang is a Coordinator of World Languages and ENL and brings extensive experience in curriculum development and instructional programs. She holds degrees in Spanish, TESOL, and School District Leadership.
She is actively involved in all aspects of the Board's work and values the opportunity to help provide meaningful educational opportunities for all the students of Levittown. In her free time, Ms. Lang enjoys spending time outdoors with her family.

Dan Larkin
Trustee
Dan Larkin has been a Levittown resident for 52 years and is a graduate of General Douglas MacArthur High School, Class of 1993. He is the father of four children, including two sons who graduated from MacArthur, a daughter currently attending MacArthur, and a son at Jonas E. Salk Middle School.
Mr. Larkin has served as a U.S. Merchant Marine Officer for more than 20 years and has worked for the New York City Department of Transportation Staten Island Ferry for the past 18 years. He has coached football and lacrosse for many years and has dedicated countless hours to youth athletics through leadership roles with Levittown PAL, the Levittown Tomahawks, Levittown PRIDE Football & Cheer, and the Levittown Island Trees Youth Council.
Mr. Larkin values the opportunity to give back to the community that has been his home for a lifetime. In his free time, he enjoys spending time at the beach, fishing on his boat, and relaxing around a campfire with family and friends.

Jennifer Messina
Trustee
Jennifer Messina serves as a Trustee on the Levittown Board of Education and previously held the roles of President and Vice President. A resident of the district for 12 years, she is the proud parent of two Levittown graduates and has one child currently in high school.
A special education teacher with extensive experience supporting students with autism, Ms. Messina holds a master's degree as well as building and district-level administrative certifications. She brings a deep understanding of student learning needs and a strong commitment to fostering supportive school environments.
Ms. Messina has been active in the community as a former coach with the Levittown Soccer Club and as a past Co-President, Treasurer, and First Vice President of Levittown SEPTA. In her free time, she enjoys caring for plants, reading, and practicing yoga.
